Paranormal Activity 2 outperforms.

Paranormal activity 2 has finished its first weekend top of the movie charts ( estimated $41.5 million), outdoing many expert predictions for the movie. This has been put down largely to Paramount's marketing campaign.

Leaving so much to the audience's imagination inflames so many emotions towards the film. Fear, curiosity, amusement. Nothing that the film maker can create can be scarier than the images that the audience imagines. All of this combines to create a successful marketing campaign, which is clear to see from the ticket sale figures.

  1. This is so clever, it makes you want to see the film just to find what made that woman's mouth stay open so long! Like you say, what your own brain and imagination creates when watching this is probably far worse than what's actually in the film itself. Paramount are essentially making you market the film to yourself, ingenious. The only thing I would change is to not have any sound at all. I almost don't want to hear any of the film and just purely focus on the most extreme reactions.

  2. Well this was great to watch whilst having my morning cup of tea! Although slightly humorous to watch, I was still on the edge of my seat anticipating everyones reactions! I love how the lady keeps moving backwards when really there she is not moving anywhere or any further away from the screen! I have seen the first film and have to say that if someone had filmed me watching it there would have been some rather amusing footage. It makes you just want to go to the cinema right now and see what causes this shocked, scared, jaw dropping response. I am sure I didn't sleep for a week after I saw the first one...that may not be such a bad thing with all the work we have to do!
